It was heartbreaking to learn that 74-year-old legendary actress Veena Kapoor had allegedly been murdered by her son over a property dispute. Her son has reportedly been taken into police custody. He used a baseball bat to murder his mother. Actress Nilu Kohli, a colleague of Veena's, conveyed the devastating news of her passing in an Instagram post. The news quickly spread virally. The actress further stated in the tweet that Veena's son threw her body in a river close to Matheran in the Raigad region.
Other news portals have reported that the son repeatedly hit his mother in the head with a baseball bat before throwing her body into a river in an isolated bush. The murder occurred in Mumbai's Juhu neighbourhood. During questioning by the Mumbai police, he admitted that he intended to steal a 12-crore plot from his mother, as stated in DNA. He and Veena were having a disagreement when he became enraged and killed her out of his fury.
In her Instagram post, she included the picture and the entire narrative. She noted in the post that Veena's son, who lives in the US, was aware of the occurrence and promptly contacted Mumbai's authorities. As a result, her younger son was interrogated and detained.
In the meanwhile, a complaint has been filed against the defendant under Indian Penal Code sections (IPC) 302, 201, and 34.
