Veteran actor and famous dancer Madhuri Dixit shares insight into the shooting of her hit song Ek Do Teen

With the ever-developing technological innovation in the film industry, most films now use CGI to recreate the illusion of a large crowd. However, this wasn't always the case. Many films in the past have taken to drastic measures to ensure the creative process of shooting for a film or song. Bollywood actor and famous dancer Madhuri Dixit recently went on Twitter to interact with her fans amid the Coronavirus lockdown. During the interactive session a fan asked her about her famous dance number, Ek Do Teen. To everyone's surprise Madhuri Dixit revealed that the song was shot with a crowd of approximately 1000 real people as audience members.

 

At the start of the interactive session, Dixit tweeted out writing, "Let’s start our #SunoSunaoWithMD Listening Party with #EkDoTeen! Right from starting the rehearsals 10-15 days before the shoot to shooting with a real crowd of 1,000 people, the song has been so special. Send me your questions & share your memories of the song with me."

 

Talking about her dance number she wrote, "The hookstep became so popular at that time. I was shocked to know that people used to demand the song to be replayed in the theatres before the movie could continue & fling money on the screens. Everyone had started calling me Mohini. Wow, this song brought back many memories."

 

She also said that she initially did not expect the song's immense success. She added writing, "I didn’t know that the song would get so popular. But it definitely feels great that it did! We believe the male version of #EkDoTeen was shot after the movie release since your version became so popular! This was a first of its kind song to have something like this. Did you always know it would gain popularity."
