Varun Grover Speaks In Support Of Legalising Same-Sex Marriages

Varun Grover, a writer, lyricist, and comedian, expressed his opinion on the Supreme Court's hearing on legalizing marriage for same-sex and alternative-sexuality couples. On Twitter, he responded to the question of how well a same-sex couple could raise a child. He stated that same-sex couples would raise children better than a majority of heterosexual couples. He said their children would not be a product of loveless marriages, greed for a son, or pressure from elders. They would instead be raised with love, empathy, and inherited grace.
In a follow-up tweet, Varun Grover clarified his response. He stated that the comparison was brought up in court. And currently, overwhelming evidence exists only of bad parenting by heterosexual couples. He believes that love should be given a chance, and people would be surprised by the results.
Additionally, filmmakers Hansal Mehta and Vivek Agnihotri also shared their thoughts on same-sex marriages. Vivek Agnihotri believes that same-sex marriage is not an urban elitist concept. It is a human need, he added. He thinks that it is a right. It should be considered normal in a progressive, liberal, and inclusive society like India. Meanwhile, Hansal Mehta urged the Supreme Court to legalize same-sex marriages.
The Supreme Court has constituted a five-judge Constitution bench led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud to oversee the proceedings. Day two of the Supreme Court hearing has ended, and it will resume on Thursday.
