After the debacle of Street Dancer 3D,
Varun Dhawan planned to score a big hit with his upcoming film Coolie No:1. But his plans got flopped due to the coronavirus pandemic. The film was originally slated for the release on May 1st but that didn't happen due to the ongoing lockdown. Meanwhile, we now hear that expect VFX, DI, and the final mixing, all the other works of the film got completed.
According to Bollywood sources, the shooting, editing, and dubbing of the film got done way before the lockdown got announced. Even the VFX works are almost finished. The DI and the final mixing are yet to get done. The makers are planning to resume the works once the lockdown gets eased.
Coolie No:1 is being directed by David Dhawan.
Sara Ali Khan is playing the female lead in it. It is an adaptation of the 1995 film of the same name. The original version was also directed by David Dhawan and featured Govinda and Karishma Kapoor in the lead characters. The latest version was mostly shot in Bangkok. This film marks the first time collaboration of Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan. Paresh Rawal, Javed Jaffrey, Rajpal Yadav, and Johnny Lever are playing the other important roles of it.
Coolie No:1 is being produced jointly by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh. Ravi K Chandran has handled the cinematography of it. The makers will announce the new release date of the film once all the pending works get finished.
