Varun Dhawan came up with Street Dancer 3D earlier this year. Unfortunately, this Remo D'Souza directorial failed to perform well at the box office. To strike back hard, Varun will soon come up with the film Coolie No:1. We hear that Varun will play the role of die-hard Mithun Chakraborty fan in the film. It seems that he will also mimic Mithun in a few scenes of the movie.
The B-Town sources claimed that Varun will also do the iconic pelvic move of Mithun in this comedy-caper. He will also utter a few dialogues of the yesteryear superhero and pay tribute to him. Varun is good at mimicking and there is no doubt in saying that he will nail in this role as well. Coolie No:1 was actually supposed to hit the screens on the 1st of May. But it will now get postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. It features Sara Ali Khan as the female lead. This is the first film in the combination of Sara and Varun.
Varun Dhawan's father David Dhawan is directing the film. This is David Dhawan's comeback film after the 2017 film Judwaa 2. Coolie No:1 is the remake o 1995 film of the same name. The original film featured Govinda and Karishma Kapoor in the lead roles. Paresh Rawal, Javed Jaffrey, Rajpal Yadav and Johnny Level played the other important roles in this new version. Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshika Deshmukh bankrolled the project under the Pooja Entertainment.
