Vaariyamkunnan is a new movie in Malayalam movie that is going to create a lot of interesting buzz on social media, in the recent times. Prithviraj Sukumaran is on board to play the lead role in the film. The earlier media reports revealed that Chiyaan Vikram is on board to play the lead role but there has been a change in the same and Prithviraj came on board. It created confusion among the audiences but here is clarity on the same.
Ramees Mohammed is the writer of the movie and he recently interacted with a Malayalam web portal. During his interaction, Ramees opened up that the project was originally planned for Chiyaan Vikram. Anwar Rasheed was in talks for the director of the project. However, Anwar could not allocate the time for the film as he was occupied with his movie Trance.
Now, Aashiq Abu came on board to direct the movie. Aashiq wanted someone from the Malayalam film industry to play the lead. Since the film is based on Vaariyamkunnathu Kunjahammed Haji, on whose life this period drama was being made, the director wanted a Malayalam actor. Thus, Prithviraj Sukumaran came on board to play the lead role in the film.
