The United Arab Emirates has been awarding Golden Visas to Kollywood celebrities on a regular basis over the last few years. The golden visa is a long-term residence permit that allows foreigners to live and work in the UAE without the need for a national sponsor and gives them full ownership of their company. The United Arab Emirates has now presented Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan with the Golden Visa.
Sharing a picture, Kamal Haasan posted, "I’m honored to receive the Golden Visa from the United Arab Emirates. Thank you Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General GDRFA for the tour of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs offices in Dubai. Thanks to Dubai Film and TV Commission for supporting talents and creative people."
Earlier in December 2021, actor-filmmaker R Parthipan became the first Tamil actor to be granted a Golden Visa by the UAE. After veteran actors Nasser, Rahman, and director Venkat Prabhu, Kamal Haasan is the latest Tamil film star to be granted a Golden Visa by the United Arab Emirates. Actresses Amala Paul, Trisha, and Raai Laxmi were also awarded the Golden Visa by the Dubai government earlier this month.
