Tollywood Producers To Go Ahead With Production Halt From August 1

The Film Chamber of Commerce stated that Tollywood producers would suspend filming on Monday. The Film Chamber's general body meeting in Hyderabad resolved to back the earlier decision by the Active Telugu Producers Guild (ATPG) to halt film shoots on August 1. Noted producer Dil Raju said they would get down and discuss the issues and that shooting will not restart until they find a solution. Basi Reddy, the new president of the Film Chamber, stated that the meeting unanimously resolved to halt filming for a few days.

The decision made during the 48 members' meeting would freeze the creation of new films and those nearing completion. The judgment, however, would not affect the production of films in other languages in Hyderabad.

The decision would halt the production of films starring Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Junior NTR, Prabhas, and Vijay Devarkonda. According to Cinema Chamber officials, the Telugu film business is in a state of dissatisfaction among producers, distributors, exhibitors, and others.

A meeting will convene shortly to address the numerous difficulties they are facing and to deliberate on the steps that should be taken to get the film industry back on track. The consultations will include all 24 film industry trades.

Dil Raju informed reporters that the decision was made in response to several concerns, including a reduction in theatre patronage, rising ticket prices, new releases on OTT, and rising production costs.
