Thrisha And Jayam Ravi Loses Twitter Blue Tick; Here's Is The Reason

Ponniyin Selvan was one of the biggest hits of all time in Tamil cinema. The first part of the franchise, which Mani Ratnam described as his dream project, hit theatres on September 30, 2022. Since then, the wait for the second part has started among movie lovers. Ponniyin Selvan 2 hits theatres worldwide on April 28. The makers are on a nationwide promotional spree, building up the pre-release hype.

Jayam Ravi and Trisha, the stars of the film, participated in an event held in Delhi. The incident was explained by actors, why they lost the verification on their Twitter account. For the promotion of the movie, the stars changed their Twitter account names after their characters in Ponniyin Selvan 2.

"As part of the promotion of the film, we all had to change our names on Twitter. Ravi and I were the first to change our names. That's why we lost the blue tick. We don't know the reason behind it, but the team is working on getting it right again," Trisha said at the event in Delhi. "We will come to the verification of names," Jayam Ravi interestingly responded.

"We were looking to change names and buy BlueTick again. We tried to do the same this morning. Twitter says it's suspicious activity because we've changed names," added Trisha.

Mani Ratnam's film Ponniyin Selvan is based on the world-famous historical novel by the legendary writer Kalki. The movie was released in five languages: Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. The second part will also be released in these languages. It is reported that the real story of the film will be told in the second part. Gokulam Movies, which released PS-1 in Kerala, is also the distributor of PS-2 in Kerala.
