The Telugu Film Industry Is Going Through A Slump; Dil Raju Advises Caution

While Bollywood is still struggling to find a solution to a spate of box-office flops, particularly with post-pandemic film releases, the Telugu film industry is gearing up for a turnaround. The Telugu film industry has lately produced successes such as RRR and Pushpa and has decided to halt new film production beginning August 1. The producers have been notified, and a meeting will be scheduled to address the celebrity fees, which many insiders feel are also weighing heavily on the producers down South.

According to sources, "the box office statistics of films, which several members of the trade believe are now exaggerated, will also be one of the subjects of debate." Furthermore, there is a misconception that all South films are successful, although this is not the reality. There have also been films that have bombed at the box office."

In a recent press conference, producer Dil Raju, who recently produced Shahid Kapoor's Jersey and Naga Chaitanya's Thank You, voiced worry about the current situation. He said, "Due to change in the audience mindset post-pandemic, I asked my team to stop working on ten scripts, which we had started working on long back. I have stopped taking two films on set, too. I would suggest to all the producers not to start new film projects right now. First, let's analyze how the audience mindset is going to evolve in 2023 and then accordingly select scripts and start shoots.''
