Screenwriter and producer Shyam Pushkaran says Thankam is not a film with big twists. Shyam Pushkaran said that the film is a crime drama, and there is more drama in it. Shyam was speaking at the promotional press meet for Thankam in Kochi. The film's lead actors, Biju Menon and Vineeth Srinivasan, said that Thankam is one of the most enjoyable films.
The press meet was also attended by Fahadh Faasil, who is also the film's producer. Apart from this, Aparna Balamurali, director Saheed Arafat, music director BG Bal, and Dilish Pothan also attended the press meet. The crew members said that the work on the film had started in 2018. But due to the COVID period and other things, the film was delayed.
The crew said that initially Vineeth was cast in the film, but later Fahad was cast due to some of his personal reasons. Screenwriter Shyam Pushkaran said that Vineeth was cast again because the film was delayed due to COVID.
The crew said that due to the length of time, they were able to find the perfect time for Tangam during this period. Apart from Kerala, the locations of the film were in many places, including Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.
