With the lockdown, several films are facing release date issues. According to some reports, it was stated that Thalapathy Vijay ’s Master will hit the theatres on the occasion of the actor’s birthday that is June 22nd 2020. However, now with the worsening of the COVID-19 crisis in Tamil Nadu, the release date now stands postponed to another date. Rumour has it that the makers are aiming for a Diwali release later this year. However, an official announcement is yet to arrive.
Vijay was last seen in the 2019 film Bigil. The sports action film was a massive hit at the box office. It grossed around Rs 300 crores on a Rs 180 crore budget. The film was the highest-grossing Tamil film in 2019. Bigil was also Vijay’s highest-grossing film ever. Apart from Vijay, the film also starred actors Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Vivek, and Kathir. Atlee Kumar directed the film. The film was jointly produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram, Kalpathi S. Ganesh and Kalpathi S. Suresh under the AGS Entertainment banner. Now the makers of Vijay’s next film Master are hoping to release the film later this year. Master is one of the most awaited films this year. Apart from the film features several actors as a part of an ensemble cast. The cast includes actor Vijay Sethupathi in a leading role. And actors Malavika Mohanan, Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, and Ramya Subramanian in supporting roles. Lokesh Kanagaraj is directing the film. Xavier Britto is producing the film under the XB Film Creators banner. Musician Anirudh Ravichander is composing the film’s score. The film will have a simultaneous release in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu.
