The web streamer said Friday that Malayali actor Prithviraj Sukumaran's film "Kaduva" (Telugu dub) would have its OTT debut on August 4. Shaji Kailas' Pan-South action-drama was released in theatres on July 7 and garnered favorable reviews.
Prithwiraj stated that "Kaduva" is important to his heart and that he is looking forward to the film's internet debut.
"Malayalam film has garnered so much love and admiration from fans worldwide, and I am confident 'Kaduva' will receive the same love and appreciation when it will release on Prime Video," the 39-year-old actor said in a statement.
The film follows Kaduvakunnel Kuriyachan (Prithwiraj), a Pala planter in the 1990s, who ends himself in a coalition with IG Joseph Chandy (Vivek Oberoi), a politically favored top officer.
It tracks their intense rivalry and the events that result from it. Oberoi, who portrays the antagonist in the film, expressed gratitude for the audience's support for his role.
"I've always sought to play interesting characters throughout my career, and Joseph's character in the film is an example of that. It's heartwarming to see how much support this film and my character have garnered. I'm delighted that 'Kaduva' will be available to an even greater audience worldwide thanks to the OTT giant", Oberoi said.
The film, which also stars Samyuktha Menon, is produced by Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen.
