Even though Taapsee Pannu is often acclaimed as one of the most talented actors of this generation, the actress didn't receive any major award in her Bollywood career. Finally, her long-awaited moment came true when she finally got the Filmfare Best Actress Award for the film Saand Ki Aankh. Taapsee said that she didn't expect this award and didn't come prepared with any acceptance speech.
Speaking in a recent interview, Taapsee said, "Since 2016, I used to prepare an acceptance speech expecting that I would receive an award. But that didn't happen. This year, I was not expecting anything but I got the award. I had to give a speech without any preparation. I had to wait long for this but it is worth all the wait."
There was a controversy on this years Filmfare Awards that many people said that the jury was totally biased and gave 90% of the awards to Gully Boy. Responding on this, Taapsee said, "Generally, whenever there is a controversy, my name used to be there in it. But this time, no one condemned my win. This proves that most people might consider my performance as the best among the lot."
Taapsee won the Best Actress Filmfare Award under critics choice. She shared the award with her Saand Ki Aankh co-star Bhumi Pednekar. Currently, Taapsee is prepping up for the release of her upcoming film, Thappad.
