Suriya to collaborate with director Vasanthabalan

Suriya was last seen in director Sudha Kongara Prasad's Soorarai Pottru, which released directly on Amazon Prime Video on Diwali 2020. The actor recently recovered from the novel coronavirus and has started to step out of his house. Recently, he was spotted along with his wife Jyotika and a few members of his family at a school launch in Palavakkam in Chennai. Now, reports are doing the rounds that Suriya is in talks with director Vasanthabalan for a film. Reportedly, Vasanthabaan met Suriya at his residence in Chennai to narrate his script.

Suriya was impressed with the film's storyline and agreed to be a part of the film. However, he hasn't signed on the dotted lines. Reportedly, this untitled film will be a historical film which will go on floors in the second half of 2022. If everything goes as per plan, then this will be Suriya's first historical film in his career. Meanwhile, Vasanthabalan is waiting for the release of his upcoming film Jail which features GV Prakash in the lead role. Suriya will shoot for Vasanthabalan's film only after he completes Vetri Maaran's Vaadivaasal.
