Suriya's Jai Bhim, directed by TJ Gnanavel, was released on Amazon Prime Video on November 2 and received an overwhelming response. The film talks about the caste injustice and custodial torture meted out to the members of the Irular tribe. As reported earlier, Jai Bhim is based on true events. Initially, people from the North had a problem with a scene where Prakash Raj can be seen slapping a man for speaking in Hindi. Later, Vanniyar Sangam issued a legal notice to Suriya, Jyotika, TJ Gnanavel, and Amazon Prime Video for allegedly tarnishing the images of the Vanniyar community. They demanded an apology and Rs 5 crore in damages.
