Recently, Suriya made headlines for his impressive victory at the National Awards in the Best Actor category for "Soorarai Pottru." He most recently worked as a producer on the family drama "Viruman," which stars Karthi and Aditi Shankar. Since its August 12 premiere, the Muthiah-directed movie has brought in Rs 26 crore at the box office.
According to reports, Suriya has now donated Rs 25 lakh from the proceeds of "Viruman" to the construction of the Nadigar Sangam building. On August 14, the "Jai Bhim" actor and his brother Karthi attended the Nadigar Sangam's 6th Executive Committee meeting.
Suriya was last seen in a last-minute cameo in the blockbuster movie Vikram. The appearance of Suriya as a ruthless villain in the film was celebrated by cinephiles and fans like never before. Suriya also has a promising line-up of films with directors Vetrimaaran, TJ Gnanavel, Sudha Kongara, and R Ravikumar. The next movie in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe will also feature Suriya, as shown in the climax of Vikram. He is also expected in a cameo role in the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru directed by Sudha Kongara herself.
