Suriya And Jyotika Donate Rs 1 Crore To Irular Tribe

Suriya is upbeat about his upcoming film, Jai Bhim, which has been released on Amazon Prime Video a day ahead of its scheduled release. Jai Bhim is directed by Tha Se Gnanavel of Payanam and Kootathil Oruthan fame. The film was originally scheduled to release on the OTT platform on November 2. Due to overwhelming responses from critics and celebrities, Suriya and Amazon Prime Video have decided to release the film ahead of the scheduled release. The film talks about custodial torture and the injustice meted out to the people of the Irular tribe. Suriya and Jyotika produced this venture through their production house, 2D Entertainment.

 
Ahead of Jai Bhim's release, Suriya and Jyotika have donated Rs 1 crore to Pazhankudi Irular Educational Trust. They met Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin to hand over the cheque. Retired Justice Chandru, on whom the film is based, and the members of the Irular community received the amount from Suriya, Jyotika, and MK Stalin. The official Twitter of 2D Entertainment wrote,
