Director Alphonse Puthren asked Governor Arif Muhammad Khan to take action on superstition killings. Alphonse also demanded that Article 161 be used to ensure appropriate punishment in the human sacrifice case and the Sharon case. The director's response was through Facebook.
“Respected Governor of Kerala. As a Citizen of India...I request you to take strict action in two horrible unjustifiable superstitious murder cases ...1. Narabali case and 2. Sharon Murder case which was found out today. Both are planned murders according to the Police. Your Power = Article 161 which is Article 161. Power of Governor to grant pardons, etc., and to suspend, remit or commute sentences in certain cases : The Governor of a State shall have the power to grant pardons, reprieves, respites or remissions of punishment or to suspend, remit or commute the sentence of any person convicted of any offence against any law relating to a matter to which the executive power of the State extends. "Normally people pray to God for something to happen. Here I'm praying and requesting before you "Respected Governor" for the departed souls and their relatives,” Alphonse wrote on Facebook.
Meanwhile, the arrest of accused Grishma in the Sharon murder case will be registered today. After taking evidence, Greeshma will be taken to her home in Parashala and will be produced in the Neyyatinkara court. Police said that Grishma has confessed but more evidence needs to be collected. The police also found the poison used to kill Sharon at Greeshma's house.
Sharon's murder was unravelled during the eight-hour long interrogation yesterday. Greeshma killed her friend in a highly planned manner, like a hardened criminal. But the superstitious stories chosen to avoid Sharon were humiliating for Greeshma.
