Spadikam Re-release: Makers To Organise A Memorial Evening For The Late Arstists.

Spadikam, Malayalis' all-time favourite film, is getting ready for re-release. Directed by Bhadran, the unforgettable movie starring Mohanlal, Thilakan, and KPAC Lalitha is getting ready for a theatrical release again after digital remastering. The release date is February 9. But when the film hits theatres again, the many talents in front of and behind the camera will be just a memory. The makers are preparing a memorial evening for them before the release. The programme titled Ormayil Sphadikam will be held on February 5 at 6 p.m. at the Kochi Durbar Hall Grounds.

Bhadran, the film's director says:

"You must have known that the movie Spadikam will be re-released on February 9 in theatres all over the world with advanced sound and visual excellence. Some of the great talents who immortalised that film are no longer with us today. Thilakan, Shankaraady, Nedumudi Venu, KPAC Lalitha, Bahadur, Silk Smitha, Karamana Janardhanan Nair, Rajan P. Dev., P. Bhaskaran Master, J. Williams, MS. Mani, Paravoor Bharathan, NF. Varghese, NL. Balakrishnan. This is the pride of Indian cinema. If you exclude unique artists, what else is left in Spadikam? Is there a second coming for Spadikam without remembering these world-class artists who brightened the spring of Malayalam cinema?

We look forward to your presence in the evening on February 5th at 6 PM at the Kochi Durbar Hall Grounds, where the family members of these unique artists who have passed away, as well as all the other artists, technicians, and personalities of the cinema, will gather to pay obeisance to the immortal memories of these great talents...

The film was earlier planned to be re-released in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of "Spadikam." But due to the situation of Covid 19, the re-release was delayed. Bhadran had also informed earlier that he had formed a company called Geometrics for the re-release of the film. High-definition backing is done without losing the originality of the film. Making the most of the new technological possibilities, the film is being recreated without making any changes to the dialogue or storyline. It is also special that the camera was moved for crucial scenes after 25 years. Bhadran had earlier informed me that KS Chitra and Mohanlal are singing again for the film.

The film was a family action drama in which Mohanlal played the role of "Adu Thoma." Thilakan and KPAC Lalitha played Mohanlal's father and mother, respectively. Tilakan's character "Chacko Mash" from the film was highly appreciated.
