Singer Soundarya Nandakumar never thought in her life that she would get a role in her inspiration Vijay’s film, Thalapathy 64. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film had tipped to be a gangster film with a college backdrop. She is extremely happy to join the team.
Soundarya is currently in Delhi shooting for her role in the film. Speaking about the role to Times of India, she said, “They had approached me after seeing my portions in Yours Shamefully. I should thank Vignesh Karthick (director of the short) for that!."
The actress didn’t reveal anything about her role but hinted that all characters in the film will have equal importance. “The script is such that almost all the characters have prominence. It’s too overwhelming to stand beside Thalapathy and act. It feels surreal to star alongside him, she stated.
Thalapathy 64 features a star cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Antony Varghese, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Lintu Rony in important roles. The film, produced by XB Film Creators, has music scored by Anirudh Ravichander.
