Actor Sidharth Malhotra believes he still has a long way to go before his fans consider him an icon, even though Shershaah, in which he gave a brilliant performance, earned him many hearts. Looking back on his career in the film industry, Sidharth stated that he thinks people need to assess his journey from a holistic view, taking into account both his beginnings and his current position.
"I have had a pretty extreme journey in the industry, coming from New Delhi from a non-film background and being here today, working for the last 10 years and entertaining people in various diverse parts," the Student Of The Year actor added in a statement to Hindustan Times.
He also spoke candidly about his professional trajectory in the same interview, saying, "Simply to demonstrate to them (others) through my actions that anything you put your mind to is attainable. Not always should you base decisions on what everyone else thinks." Sidharth continued by saying that in order to succeed, one must ultimately rely on instinct, commitment, and preoccupation with a single field. He continued by saying that he is a shining example of such and that he hopes young people will be inspired by him.
"Being an icon or a professional is, in my opinion, a little too early. I am aware that God and the work have both been good. But I do believe that in order to be an icon and to receive some sort of adoration from the audience, you must demonstrate to them via your deeds what it takes to succeed in life "Finally, Malhotra said.
