Siddhu Jonnalagadda's DJ Tillu was promoted nicely and thanks to the solid songs and trailer, the film got a bumper opening and a good talk on day one of its release making the youth happy. As there were no big films, the comic caper minted good money at the box office. It made a share of 17 crores worldwide which is four times the profit for the makers.
Now, the shooting for the sequel has started today. Titled DJ Tllu 2, a small teaser was released and shows Siddhu in a colorful outfit getting caught by the cops in a drunk state. The conversation of Siddhu aka Tillu with Fish Venkat is hilarious and sets the tone of the sequel right. The title and first look of the sequel were also released today.
Mallik Ram directed this film which has Neha Shetty and Anupama Parameswaran as the heroine. The first part was directed by Vimal Krishna and because of some creative differences between Siddhu and Vimal, they both parted ways and now Mallik has been brought on board.
Sithara Entertainment is the production house behind this film and Thaman will score the BGM for this film. The makers have doubled the budget seeing the craze of the film. There was a slight tension among the cine circles as to how the new director would handle the sequel but he has done a good job with the teaser and set the tone of the sequel right.
