Shruti Haasan and Akshara shares an update on Kamal Haasan's surgery

Kamal Haasan has been keeping himself extremely busy with his personal work and political commitments. He has been touring around Tamil Nadu to campaign for his party Makkal Needhi Maiam ahead of Tamil Nadu Assembly Polls. Meanwhile, he has been busy with the shooting of his television show Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4, which ended on January 17. During the finale, Kamal revealed that he will undergo a follow-up surgery on his leg and will be out of action for a few days. Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan, in a statement said that Kamal's surgery was a success.

The statement read, "We would like to begin by thanking you for you overwhelming support, prayers and genuine concern regarding our father’s recent medical procedure. We are happy to inform all of you that the surgery was a success! The surgery was performed on his leg this morning at Sri Ramachandra Hospital performed by orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Mohan Kumar along with Dr. J.S.N Murthy. The doctors, attendees and the hospital management are taking wonderful care of our father and he is doing well, is in good spirits and working towards a speedy recovery."
