Sholay movie director Ramesh Sippy becomes a part of IFFI Jury

The 50th Golden Jubilee edition of the International Film Festival of India(IFFI) is all set to start on the 20th of this month in Goa. The festival will conclude on the 28th of November. Over 200 films are gearing up for their screenings at this festival. There are a few films which are competing under various categories as well.

 
The major category in IFFI is the International Competition. The best film under this section will get a Golden Peacock award. This time, there are 15 films in contention for the award. While 13 of them are foreign films, two are Indian movies.
 
IFFI has appointed a special jury to decide the winner among this lot. Popular cinematographer and former president of the Academy, John Bailey will chair the jury committee this year. The other jury members include French filmmaker Robin Campillo, who is best known for 120 beats per minute, Chinese director Zhang Yang of Getting Home fame and Scottish director Lynne Ramsay who made the acclaimed film Ratcatcher.
 
Popular director Ramesh Sippy, who helmed Sholay, will be the Indian member of the jury this time. The jury will watch all the 15 films and will declare the winner on the 28th of this month.
