Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai police in relation to a pornography case. Police arrested Raj Kundra, the husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty on Monday. The arrest is in relation to the alleged creation of porn film and publishing it.
A senior official said that he is a ‘key conspirator’ in the case. Reports suggest that he will be presented in CMM court.
“There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr. Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this.” The Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale confirmed. He also added; "We have sufficient evidence regarding this. The investigation is in progress."
As per latest update, Raj Kundra has been charged with sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 29, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of IPC. According to ANI, Ryan Tharp, a resident of Nerul, was also arrested in connection with the case.
The case was filed on February 2021 with Mumbai's Crime Branch, on the fabrication of pornographic videos and their distribution through some applications.
“We will probe the Raj Kundra case and find out if there is any link between this and pornography cases which we had registered earlier”; another official remarked in relation to the case.
