But due to various reasons, the shooting of the film was stopped halfway. The shooting had halted halfway due to the Covid crisis and the death of the cast and crew of the film when the crane fell on the shooting set. Later, Kamal Haasan went to the shooting of Vikram directed by Lokesh Kanakaraj. Director Shankar went to remake Anyan Hindi with Ranveer Singh, which prevented the resumption of the Indian 2 shooting. The fans thought the makers have abandoned the film.
However, Udayanidhi Stalin has stated that the film has not been abandoned. He added that the work will start soon to resume shooting. Udayanidhi Stalin made this statement during the success celebration of the movie Don.
Kajal Agarwal is the heroine of Indian 2 which is being prepared with a budget of Rs 200 crore. Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, and Bhavani Shankar will also play the lead roles in the film. There were reports that Abhishek Bachchan will play the villain in the film.
