The film hit theaters on 21st October 2016. Rama Rama Re follows the tale of a convict awaiting capital punishment. He manages to escape right before his execution. On his way to re-locate, he accidentally ends up traveling with a retired veteran of a Police Department, who is called upon by the authorities to teach the process of executing a convict to the new staff. The film was one of 2016's most acclaimed films. It won several awards. It won the Bengaluru International Film Festival award for Best Kannada Film. The film's director Satya Prakash won the Karnataka State Film Award for the category of Director's First Time Best Film. Singer Ananya Bhat won the Filmfare (South) Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the film's song “Namma Kayo Devare."
The film stars K Jayaram, Nataraj, and Dharammanna Kadur, among others. Nobin Paul and Lavith were responsible for the music and cinematography of Rama Rama Re respectively. The Telugu remake titled Aatagadharaa Siva was produced by Rockline Venkatesh.
