A popular comedian turned lead hero, Santhanam was last seen in the film Dagalty. The film released at the end of January and failed to perform well at the box office. Meanwhile, the actor has signed a new film which will is being directed by Johnson. The latest reports suggested that Anaika Soti got roped in to play the female lead role in the movie.
This project got launched earlier this year. It is being bankrolled by Lark Studios. The official update about Anaika's inclusion is not out yet and might get announced very soon. The actress made her film debut with Ram Gopal Varma's 2013 film Satya 2. She then acted in Kaaviya Thalaivan, for which she also got nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Filmfare Award. Later, Anaika acted in the Telugu film 365 days and Tamil films Semma Bomma Aagatha and Kee. The makers thought that she will apt choice for the film and approached her for the same. After liking the script and the role, Anaika has also given her nod, stated the sources.
Meanwhile, Santhanam is not getting a break as a lead hero. Even though he acted in a handful of films as a lead hero, Santhanam is yet to score a big blockbuster. He has quite a few releases this year. His long-delayed film Server Sundaram was actually supposed to hit the screens in January this year but got postponed. The new release date is yet to get announced. He also has two other films, Dikkilona and Biscoth, lined up for the release this year.
