Santhakumar’s Next Film To Have Arjun Das And Tanya In The Lead

After the critically acclaimed Magamuni, Santhakumar is gearing up to release his next film. Arjun Das and Tanya Ravichandran star in the yet-to-be-titled film.

“The whole project fell in place about two months ago, but we launched it with a puja now. I can’t pinpoint and say the story belongs to a particular genre. Like my previous films, there will also be crime, romance, and action in this one,” says the filmmaker. When asked why he chose Arjun and Tanya for the parts, he laughs and replies, "I believed they would be the right match for the characters, the details of which I can't tell now." He adds, "I've seen Arjun portraying anti-hero characters, and enjoyed Tanya in Karuppan." But, more importantly, I believe the two are highly expressive. I frequently watch interviews and speeches of people at public events to see whether they can play the roles I'm thinking about. You tend to be true to your genuine self at these events; oru yathaartham irukkum. If it works for me, I believe I can shape even a novice to match the role I see." The cast also includes Reshma Venkatesh, Sujith Shankar, GM Sundar, and S Ramya. Shiva GRN (DOP), Sivaraj Samaran (art), Action Prakash (stunt), and VJ Sabu Joseph are among the film's technical team members (editor). The film features Thaman's soundtrack and will go into production in the last week of November. "We will be filming big sections in Tamil Nadu, and the shoot will begin on the outskirts of Chennai," he explains.
