Sanjay Dutt took to Instagram to reveal the first look at his upcoming film, in which he will star alongside Arshad Warsi. Sanjay and Arshad will reunite for a new film after appearing together in Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) and Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006). Sanjay revealed the first look and poster for the untitled film on Thursday. The film is scheduled for release in 2023. Sanjay Dutt produced the film, which Sidhaant Sachdev directed.
Announcing the film with a poster, Sanjay Dutt wrote on Instagram,
In the poster, Sanjay and Arshad were both holding their heads while standing behind bars in jail uniforms.
Arshad had played Sarkeshwar 'Circuit' Sharma. He is the sidekick of Sanjay Dutt's Murliprasad Sharma, better known as Munna Bhai, in their 2003 hit Munna Bhai MBBS. Arshad won a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Circuit, which he later reprised in the 2006 film Lage Raho Munna Bhai. In addition to the Munna Bhai series, Sanjay and Arshad have collaborated on films such as the 2007 comedy-drama Dhamaal.
Fans expressed their excitement in the comments section of Sanjay Dutt's post as soon as he announced the film. They showered the Munna Bhai duo with love and praise.
In an interview last year, Arshad Warsi stated that he only accepted the role of Circuit in Munna Bhai MBBS because of Sanjay Dutt. Arshad had told in an interview in March 2022, “I did Munna Bhai because it was Sanju (Sanjay Dutt). Otherwise even Raju (filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani) knows that it is a stupid role. It really is on paper, it was nothing. Even Makarand Deshpande had said no to Circuit!”
