According to the directing team of Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was always their first option for Yashoda. Known for creating Tamil cinema's first stereoscopic 3D film, Ambuli (2012), and India's first Viewpoint film, Orr Eravuu, Hari and Harish this time deliver a narrative that may draw a national audience to theatre.
"We had received all the awards and fame, but we wished to appeal to a wider audience and offer something unique. We thus took a break after our previous movie and worked on Yashoda for two years."
remarked Hari and Harish, who are renowned for being the first to produce three straight first-of-their-kind Tamil films.
With Yashoda, Hari and Harish, who are directing for the first time in Telugu, reveal Samantha's initial thoughts after reading the script. "We wanted to approach a celebrity who can comprehend several forms of narrative and is also marketable to fulfill the expectations of mass consumers. The initial pick was Samantha, and fortunately, she said yes after 25 minutes of our first meeting. We wanted to find somebody who can perform effectively and had equal stardom.
"The directors say that Samantha was contacted for Yashoda even before she signed on for The Family Man 2 and that she remarked, "I'm feeling goosebumps, I want to do this picture," once the narration was finished.
Sam refused to accept any assistance for the action sequences, according to the director team who are relishing the "sweet pressure" of shooting a Pan-Indian movie. " The majority of the movie's action scenes were filmed on sets. Sam wanted to be present for two or three days of fight scene preparations because she wanted to perform every scene herself. She flat-out refused to use body duplicates, even in instances where the rope is necessary for their safety. she did all alone, and was really enjoying it."
The action sequences for the movie were created by Tollywood action director Venkat Master and Hollywood action director Yannick Ben.
