One of the most affected industries due to the coronavirus pandemic is the film industry. All the film industries across the world got severely affected by the lockdown happening due to the virus. People have lost their income source as the film productions got stalled. Thus, the industry bigwigs are doing their bit to help the cine workers. Recently, Bollywood star Salman Khan pledged financial help for 25000 cine workers. He is keeping up the promise and sending Rs. 3000 each to all the 25000 cine workers.
Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) confirmed Salman's help towards the poor cine workers. Speaking in an interview, FWICE president BN Tiwari said, "Salman sent Rs. 3000 each to a few film workers the other day. He thought that money will get wasted if he sends the total amount at a time. Thus, he decided to send them through a few installments. After a few days, Salman will send money to the next set of workers. We have given him a list of 23000 workers until now."
"Yash Raj Films has decided to donate Rs. 5000 each to the 300 cine workers. Many other celebrities are also doing their bit in helping the cine workers. Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty, and Arjun Kapoor have donated to our Federation till now. Producer Guild of India donated Rs. 1.5 crores. On the whole, we collected about Rs. 3 crores from the film industry. We are trying to get more donations," Tiwari added.
