'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior', which made a gross of 375 Crores worldwide. The film is a highly patriotic film and this huge success was a big surprise to everyone in the film's team. Saif Ali Khanwho acted in the film stated the same in a recent interview. The actor revealed that the movie unit never imagined the success of the film. Saif Ali Khan played the antagonist Udaybhan Rathod in the film against Tanhjai which is played by Ajay Devgn.
During an interaction with the media, Saif was asked to speak about the stupendous success of the film. "It’s a highly patriotic film and ticks all the boxes when it comes to being larger than life. It’s probably on paper if there’s any film of mine that was expected to do this good, this was it. But no one thought Tanhaji could do this box office performance.” revealed the actor.
Saif Ali Khan has been through a sour phase of his career lately. Tanhaji was his commercial break which also brought in good reception for his performance in the film. "I was very excited to play the role because it’s a delicious role. But when people say this is history; I don’t think this is history. I am quite aware of what the history was. But people say that is what runs and that’s what’s given it the extra kind of bump, I mean it’s more than just action movie.” he said.
