RRR has now won three awards at the Philadelphia Film Critics Circle Annual Awards. Thus continuing its winning streak. It will be 2023 soon, and SS Rajamouli's masterpiece RRR won't be slowing down any time soon.
The Philadelphia Film Critics Circle Annual Awards presented three prizes to RRR. The awards are Best Foreign Language Film, Best Cinematography, and Best Score/Soundtrack. Social media users are showering the cast and crew with congratulations for the significant victory.
At the Critics Choice Awards 2023, RRR had already received five nominations. These categories are Best Picture, Best Director, Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Visual Effects. It also won the nomination for Best Song for "Naatu Naatu." The movie has received two nominations for the prestigious Golden Globe Awards. The nominations are another accolade for it. The movie is up for Best Non-English Language Film and Best Original Song awards.
The Atlanta Film Critics Circle also recognized RRR as the "Best International Picture." RRR also won the esteemed Spotlight Award from the Hollywood Critics Association.
Everyone is waiting to learn whether RRR will be included in the Oscars 2023 shortlist after these consecutive wins. The illustrious ceremony will take place on March 12 of the following year.
RRR's producers decided to take a second chance after their film was initially passed up as India's official entry to the Oscars. They joined the "For Your Consideration" campaign for the Academy Award nominations. The hit film is looking for nominations in 14 categories. These include Best Motion Picture, Best Director (SS Rajamouli), Best Actor in a Lead Role (Ram Charan and Jr. NTR), and others.
