The historical drama RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, has received two Golden Globe nominations. The movie, which stars Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, has received a nomination for Best Picture – Non-English Language. In addition to this, the popular song Naatu Naatu has received a nomination in the category of Best Original Song. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Shriya Saran are also featured in the movie.
The official handle of the Golden Globes shared the news on Twitter. “Congratulations to the nominees for Best Picture - Non-English Language--. All Quiet on the Western Front, Argentina, 1985, Close, Decision to Leave and RRR.” Another tweet read, “Best Original Song –. Motion Picture--Carolina, Taylor Swift (Where the Crawdads Sing). Ciao Papa, Guillermo del Toro & Roeban Katz (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio). Hold My Hand, Lady Gaga, and Bloodpop (Top Gun: Maverick). Other entries from India included Gangubai Kathiawadi, Kantara, and Chhello Show. But only RRR made it to the nominations. On January 10, 2023, there will be an awards presentation in Los Angeles. Jerrod Carmichael will serve as the event's host.
SS Rajamouli directed and produced the movie RRR. Rajamouli also co-wrote the script with V Vijayendra Prasad. The movie stars Olivia Morris, Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, and Ajay Devgn. Shriya Saran, Alia Bhatt, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody feature in major roles. The lives of actual Indian revolutionaries Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju are central to the story.
