After the phenomenal success of 'Kantara,' Rishab Shetty is in high demand and sought after by other industries. The big news in the Kannada industry recently was Rishab Shetty being approached for Mohanlal's 'Malaikottai Valiban.' The film is directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. According to unconfirmed reports, Rishab Shetty has agreed to be a part of the film. And reports also said that he is very excited to share screen space with the legendary actor Mohanlal. Rumour also has it that the film's producers have approached Bollywood actress Radhika Apte to play the female lead. The film will release in the latter half of 2023.
Rishab Shetty explained to a media outlet that he was approached to do the film. But he said he had to decline the offer because he wanted to do a Kannada film next. Still, there is a Kannada film connection in 'Malaikottai Valiban.' The film features 'Kantara's stunt master Vikram Mor. And also Kannada standup comedian-actor Danish Sait is also playing a role in the film.

The film will release theatrically in the summer of 2024.
