On Wednesday morning, the whole country woke up to the devastating news of the passing away of Irrfan Khan. The actor who made his own legacy in all these years lost the battle to a rare type of cancer. Kareena Kapoor Khan, who worked with Irrfan in his last film Angrezi Medium, took to her social media handle to pay her last tribute. Kareena shared a behind-the-scenes picture from the sets of the film in which she stands along with Irrfan, while Dimple Kapadia and Deepak Dobriyal are sitting on the chairs. Kareena wrote, "It was an absolute honor, sir. Rest in peace."
Angrezi Medium was the last film of Irrfan Khan. He was undergoing treatment for his problem when he shot for the film in the middle of that. Due to the lockdown, Angrezi Medium is released on the digital platforms for the audience to watch. Now the movie will always remain special for Irrfan's fans. Earlier in the day, other celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and others paid their tribute.
The official statement which announced the death of Irrfan Khan read, "I trust, I have surrendered”; These were some of the many words that Irrfan expressed in a heartfelt note he wrote in 2018 opening up about his fight with cancer. And a man of few words and an actor of silent expressions with his deep eyes and his memorable actions on screen. It’s saddening that this day, we have to bring forward the news of him passing away. Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him."
