Daughter Deepika Padukone and son in law Ranveer Singh of Prakash Padukone highlighted Prakash's legendary win in the field of Indian Badminton. On March 23, 1980, he won the All England Badminton Championship. This made him the first-ever Indian Badminton player to bag such a renowned position. This year it was the 40th anniversary of this win. Both Deepika and Ranveer showered their love for him on social media.
The Chhapaak actress wrote this on her Twitter, "Pappa, Your contribution to Badminton and Indian Sport is immeasurable! Thank You for your inspiring display of dedication, discipline, determination and years of hard work! They don't make you like you anymore... We love you and are proud of you! Thank You for being you!" (sic)
Ranveer too joined her shortly and praised his father in law through Instagram. "40 years ago on this day, #PrakashPadukone changed the fate of Badminton forever. He won the All England Championship in London's Wembley Arena, creating history for Indian sports. An unprecedented, landmark victory that shines everlastingly in the annals of time. #legend #icon #proud." (sic) wrote Ranveer along with a picture of Prakash Padukone in mid-action.
The couple, right now, is catching up on some quality time at home. When asked by one of the fans as to what they are up to, Ranveer replied, "Eating, sleeping, exercising, watching movies, and DP is teaching herself how to play the piano."
On the work front, Ranveer's 83' was set to release early April but is now postponed due to the Corona outbreak. He was also, to begin with, the shooting for Takht produced by Karan Johar this month. That too has been stalled. Deepika will also star opposite Ranveer in 83'. She also signed up for a remake of the Hollywood film The Intern with Rishi Kapoor.
