Get ready for a powerful onscreen pair. Randeep Hooda and Ileana D'Cruz will get together for the first time on the big screen for the comedy movie Unfair and Lovely. The fill, according to the title, takes a dig at the obsession India has with fair skin. The film follows Ileana D'Cruz as a small-town girl from Haryanvi who is dealing with the prejudice of dark skin. The name of her character is Lovely in the film Talking about the film to Mumbai Mirror, D'Cruz shared her thoughts on the choice of the film, saying "This role is different from all my earlier work and a challenging one. The character requires a lot of sensitivity and I’m waiting to see how it unfolds. I can assure you that the film will leave you with a smile."
Hooda also shared some thoughts, "I do have a lighter side to me and when I heard this story, I was instantly hooked." The director is no other than Balwinder Singh Janjua. He wrote the screenplay for the hit film Saand Ki Aankh starring Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar.
Though the writers for Lovely and Unfair are Anil Rodhan and Kunal Mandekar. Ileana's last work was Pagalpanti by Anees Bazmee. She also signed up for The Big Bull by Kookie Gulati. She is starring in its opposite Abhishek Bachchan. It will release this October.
Regarding Randeep Hooda's work life, he is busy with films. He is currently shooting his Hollywood debut Extraction alongside the famously known Thor actor Chris Hemsworth.
