Prolific actress Ramya Krishna made her digital debut last year with the web series Queen. Created by Reshma Ghatala, this series got directed by Gautham Menon and Prasath Murugesan. Loosely based on the life of Jayalalitha, this series got acclaimed by critics as well as the audiences. Now, the makers are gearing up to start the shooting of the second season. Ramya Krishna revealed that the script works got done and the shoot will begin once the lockdown gets over.
Speaking in a recent interview, Ramya stated that she is eagerly waiting to be a part of the shoot. She added that there will be a lot of action, interesting and thrilling content in this second season. The makers have no clarity on when the shoot will begin exactly. They will decide once the lockdown gets over. Ramya also stated that Reshma has already penned the script and everyone is just waiting for the right time to take it on the floors.
Queen got inspired by the book of the same name written by Anita Sivakumaran. It is heavily inspired by the life of Jayalalitha. When asked about the same, Ramya said that she thinks the story has nothing to do with Jayalalitha's life. She stated that she has no objections if people draw similarities between this story and Jaya's story. The first season had 11 episodes and is currently streaming on MX Player. The second season may land by the end of 2021.
