Following the enormous success of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Rajinikanth recently honored former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan and fellow actor R Madhavan. The Rehna Hai Tere Dil Main actor posted a few pictures of their encounter on the photo-sharing app.
The actor makes his directing debut with this highly praised biography, which he produced and directed himself. Simran and Ranjit Kapoor both play major parts in the film, which is produced by Tricolour Films in collaboration with Varghese Moolan Pictures. Suriya also makes a cameo appearance.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is based on the biography of Nambi Narayanan, a former ISRO scientist who was wrongly accused of espionage and imprisoned in 1994. Meanwhile, this endeavor is now accessible on the OTT platform as well after capturing numerous hearts on the big screens. It made its debut on July 26 of this year.
R Madhavan discussed the reasons behind his decision to wear many hats for this film during an interview. In response, he was reported as stating, "It just so happened that I heard Nambi Narayanan's account from someone who stated there was a good-looking ISRO scientist who had an affair with a Maldivian woman and as a result, he sold secrets of Indian rocketry to Pakistan. He was detained, subjected to torture, and on the verge of death when he eventually emerged to prove his innocence. I said, great, you know the James Bond story of the poor man. But when I finally met him, it was as if a sledgehammer had struck me. As an individual, I was aware that our culture and country as a whole were lacking this entire picture".
