Radha Ravi joins BJP, Chinmayi writes to Smriti Irani

Chinmayi is the popular singer and dubbing artist who is pretty active with multiple projects on hand. All of a sudden, she got banned from the union because she shared her MeToo story. Radha Ravi, the president of the Tamilnadu dubbing union slut-shamed Chinmayi and many others in the past. She is constantly fighting for justice and today the news is out that Radha Ravi joined Bharatiya Janatha Party and Chinmayi wrote about the same to Smriti Irani, Union Cabinet Minister for Textiles and Women & Child Development.

"Dear @smritiirani Ma’am. Mr. Radha Ravi has joined your party in Tamilnadu. He has used many a stage/event to slut-shame women. He runs/is the President of the Tamilnadu Dubbing Union where he bans those who complain of sexual harassment or financial mismanagement from work. I've been personally banned; I have an injunction from the Honble CC Court in Tamilnadu also because I named Mr. Vairamuthu, Padma Bhushan Awardee of being my molester during the second wave of the #MeToo Movement. Mr. Radha Ravi had associated with the DMK who have long been patrons of Mr. Vairamuthu.

Mr. Vairamuthu and Mr. Radha Ravi had associated with the same political party previously. I lodged a formal complaint and investigations haven’t really begun. While the film industry here neither has an ICC, Radha Ravi continues to be President of the Dubbing Union preventing me from working here and he joined the ruling party to boot. This gives no confidence to survivors who stand, mostly alone, fighting a system pitted against us." posted Chinmayi on her Twitter profile.

We have to see if the important leaders from BJP or Smriti Irani herself respond to the issue.
