Puneeth Rajkumar pays tribute to Tom and Jerry director Gene Deitch

Puneeth Rajkumar took to Twitter to pay his tribute to the creator of the cartoon Tom and Jerry, Gene Deitch.

Puneeth Rajkumar pays tribute to Tom and Jerry director Gene Deitch

The Oscar-winning illustrator and animator of Tom and Jerry, Gene Deitch passed away at the age of 95. Actor Puneeth Rajkumar took to Twitter to express his condolences. He posted a picture of an illustrated image of Gene Deitch and wrote, " Grew up watching Tom & Jerry, Popeye, My all-time favorite cartoons! Even now I enjoy watching them sometimes. Lots of childhood memories! RIP Gene Deitch."
 
Meanwhile, Puneeth Rajkumar is awaiting the release of his film Yuvarathnaa. Santhosh Ananddram has directed the film. Yuvarathnaa is being bankrolled by Hombale Films. In addition to Puneeth Rajkumar, the film also stars Sayyeshaa, Dhananjay and Radhika Sarath Kumar. The much-awaited film was to hit the theatres in April. But the release date stands postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
 
Rumour has it Puneeth might be collaborating with director Prashanth Neel of KGF fame. Talking about the KGF director, he recently said, "Why wouldn’t any actor want to do a film with him now? We held discussions a long time ago, and we were supposed to a film for which we had even decided on the title, Aahvaana. But it didn’t take off. We will come together soon when it works for both of us."
He is also bankrolling Likshith Shetty’s upcoming film Family Pack.
