Prithviraj - Alphonse Puthren Movie Gold Begins Well Despite Of Mixed Reviews

Alphonse Puthren's ‘Gold’ marks his come back after 6 years. It seems to be following the same format of his earlier films as it gives more importance to the post production than script or plot. But, this time the movie is receiving mixed responses. Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara has hit the cinemas today (Dec 1). According to early trade figures, the movie had a successful opening day. It recorded occupancy rates of 32.54% overall across all of the shows. It includes morning (32.91%), noon (23.58%), evening (31.95%), and night shows (41.72%).

Reportedly, Gold has made a fantastic start of 2.5 Cr nett in the domestic market. It is similar to the first-day earnings of his last superhit movie Kaduva. The movie was released without heavy marketing or promotions. The theatrical rights of the film was sold for around 30 crores. Reportedly, Gold has over 1300 screens worldwide. It is the biggest ever release for the actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. Anand C Chandran is the director of Photography of the film. Rajesh Murugesan has composed the music for the film.
