The United States of America is one of the worst-hit countries by the deadly COVID 19 virus. After ignoring various WHO warnings the US went into lockdown only at its absolute worst. This led to a lot of chaos amid its citizens and those who required medical assistance. Now singer and pop star Sam Smith has revealed that they contracted the Coronavirus before the country went into lockdown. Smith said that their sister also contracted the virus as the two stays together.
In an interaction with Zane Lowe for apple music Smith said, "I didn't get tested but I know I have it, 100 per cent have it. I'm just going to assume that I did because everything I've read completely pointed to that. So yeah, I think I definitely had it. And then as soon as I had it, my sister five days after me started getting the same symptoms who are living with me."
"It was clear. Because I've got an older nan and stuff, so we didn't want to risk anything. I got it about two weeks before the UK really hit. Well, I think I got it. I don't 100 percent know, but I got it and then as everyone was kind of really on lockdown, that's when I got over it, luckily," the singer added.
In the international community, Tom Hanks was the first big-scale celebrity to admit news over contracting the virus. Since then Hanks and his wife have tested negative and are now staying at home. Other stars like Idris Elba also later tested positive for the novel COVID-19 virus before seeking help.
