On September 30, Ponniyin Selvan, Part 1 of Mani Ratnam's next movie, will open in theatres everywhere. After releasing updates one after the other for a week, the creators started working on promotions. Following the release of character portraits and a teaser, the producers made a fresh announcement about audio rights. Ponniyin Selvan's audio rights were purchased by Tips Music for a staggering Rs 25 crores. The audio rights for the movie broke records, selling like never before.
The creators announced this on Twitter and said, "We are happy to announce @tipsofficial have acquired the AUDIO RIGHTS of our ambitious project #PS1 in all languages."
Today, June 8, Chennai is scheduled to see the official launch of Ponniyin Selvan's teaser. The teaser launch is scheduled to begin at 6 PM, and the cast of "Ponniyin Selvan" is reportedly attending as well. Suriya in Tamil, Mahesh Babu in Telugu, Mohanlal in Malayalam, Rakshit Shetty in Kannada, and Amitabh Bachchan in Hindi will release the teaser.
The filmmakers released fresh posters and presented Chiyaan Vikram as Aditya Karikalan, the Chola crown prince, Karthi as Vanthiyathevan. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play the role of Nandini, the queen, and Trisha as Kundavai, the princess.
Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarath Kumar, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Prabhu, and others make up the cast of the epic work Ponniyin Selvan, first part, PS-1.
Mani Ratnam and Lyca Productions co-produce Ponninyin Selvan, and Siva Ananth serves as the movie's executive producer. The music is composed by A.R. Rahman.
