Power Star Pawan Kalyan's maiden and only directorial film Johnny completes 17 years of its release today. As he wrote and directed this film, Pawan shares many fond memories with it. The actor relieved some of his memories by posting a throwback picture from the sets of the film. In this picture, we can see Pawan riding a rickshaw along with the members of his direction department.
By sharing this picture, Pawan tweeted, "While setting up the shot for ‘ Johnny’(Seen with Harish Pai, my friend, and Guru), Ganesh(Song Choreographer), Dayanand (actor and director now); they were all part of my direction team."
Meanwhile, Johnny's music director Ramana Gogula also shared his memories with the film. Earlier today, he tweeted, "Dear @PawanKalyan, it only feels like yesterday that we were sitting down and composing music for Jhonny! Cannot believe it been 17 years . . . . What a journey life has been since then! Congratulations on this celebration of Johnny! Stay safe my friend!" Replying to him, Pawan tweeted, "Thank you @RamanaGogula, I truly enjoyed working with you. They were fun-filled and highly energetic creative moments. All the best mate. Cheers!"
Johnny had hit the theatres on April 25th, 2003. It featured Renu Desai as the female lead. It got released amidst heavy expectations but failed to live up to the hype. On the whole, the movie ended up as a disappointing venture at the box office. However, the music composed by Ramana Gogula was a huge hit. Johnny got produced by Allu Aravind under the banner Geetha Arts.
