The song 'Besharam Rang' from Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan went viral immediately after it was released. However, the Madhya Pradesh government has also taken offense to the song's music video, which mostly highlights Deepika Padukone and her outfit.
Dr. Narottam Mishra strongly opposed the song's visuals. He is a senior BJP leader and cabinet minister for Madhya Pradesh's Home, Jail, Parliamentary Affairs, and Law Departments.
Mishra spoke with reporters. He remarked, “The outfits worn (by Deepika Padukone) in the song are objectionable. It is evident that this song has been picturized by polluted minds. Anyways, Deepika ji has been a supporter of the ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang; she attended the JNU protests.”
He also gave the film's creators a condition. He added, “That’s why I would like to request (to the makers) to rectify the visuals and outfits (in the song), else we will need to think whether the film will be allowed to release in Madhya Pradesh.”
Mishra had also expressed significant disapproval for Om Raut's film Adipurush earlier in the year. He disapproved of the way its characters were portrayed in the teaser.
Pathaan represents SRK's comeback after a four-year break. The movie is directed by Siddharth Anand. It also features John Abraham. It is being produced by Yash Raj Films. It is set to release on January 25, 2023.
