Pathaan Controversy: Ayodhya-Based Saint Threatens Shah Rukh Khan's Life; Says I Will Burn Him Alive

Shah Rukh Khan has been making headlines ever since the song 'Besharam Rang' was released and now an Ayodhya-based saint has threatened his life publicly. The song appears to have caused a great deal of criticism regarding the dance moves and clothing choices. Right-wing groups have protested, calling for a boycott of the movie. Several lawmakers have even threatened to boycott the movie in some areas. Ayodhya-based seer Paramhans Acharya has now aggravated the situation by threatening to kill the superstar if they ever meet.

According to recent reports, he even referred to superstar Shah Rukh Khan as a "jihadi." He reportedly remarked, "People of our Sanatan Dharma are protesting regarding this. Today we have burnt the poster of Shahrukh Khan. If I get to meet the film Jihadi Shah Rukh Khan, I will burn him alive.” He continued by saying that he would take them to court if anyone else had the courage to do the same. It was not the end of the threat. According to reports, Acharya threatened theatre owners as well. He warned them not to screen the movie or they would burn the buildings down.

Readers might be reminded of the controversy surrounding the movie Pathaan. It was caused by Deepika Padukone's controversial choice to wear a saffron-colored bikini, which offended some religious groups. They objected saying that it hurt their feelings. They also went on to say that the film's intense chemistry between the actress and SRK and the actress' gyrating dancing moves will corrupt the youths. An FIR has also been filed in Mumbai over the same issue against the song's creators and cast in addition to these protests.

Siddharth Anand is the director of Pathaan. It stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the key roles, with John Abraham as the villain. The movie was made by Yash Raj Films. It debuts on January 25 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
